Beards Mountain Trail Bridge
Location: Bath County Virginia
Project Description:
It is the reconstruction of a 220 foot cable
suspension bridge in the George
Washington/Jefferson National Forest. Construction included the
replacement of all suspender cables, the installation of bearing shoes,
the replacement of all the cross members, the replacement of
14 stringers, the replacement of all handrail posts and
members and the installation of 2x2 heavy wire mesh.
It also included the replacement of one set of steps and the
reinforcement of the other set of steps with new a new angle bracket.
