Herbert and Gloria Jones Woodlands Trail

Location:  Charleston West Virginia

Project Description:

This project was for the construction of a new multi use loop trail system.  The project was 3.75 miles in length.  There was several creek crossings that utilized an open bottom culvert as well as many areas of flat wet areas that required stone paving.  Also included in this project was a 1 mile crushed stone path that was designed to have shallow grades for use by people with limited outdoor abilities or difficulties walking on uneven terrain.  The additional 2.75 miles would be for various levels of walking and riding fun.  The trail is designed for a beginner rider and has a trail head parking area.
