2018 Projects

These are the projects that we did in the year 2018. The projects are categorized by the year that we started the contract. If you are looking for a project that you thought might have been done in this year, check the year before and it could have been started then. A lot of our projects can last for more than a year and we also start projects towards the end of the year and they do carry over. Enjoy the projects descriptions and pictures. Since this is a new website we are still continuing to add pictures from past projects once we have scanned them to add them to the site. So if a project you are looking for doesn't have any pictures come back later to see if they have been added. Burke County Trail Bridges Location: Lake James, Burke County North Carolina January 2018 to April 2018 Project Description:
This project is for the construction of 4 small trail bridges.  Each bridge will be 30 foot in length.  Included in this project is the construction of sections of the Fonta Flora Trail. -more-
Village at Toms Creek Walkway Location: Blacksburg VA   Village at Toms Creek Subdivision  February 2018 Project Description:
This project is the for the construction of a new creek crossing walkway and the rehabilitation of a picnic area and subdivision campsite in an old quarry. -more-
PTBA Workshop Location:  Roanoke WV   Stonewall Resort and State Park April 2018 Project Description:
This was a workshop put on by the Professional Trail Builders Association.  It featured Introduction to Mechanized Trail Construction, Stonework, and Boardwalk Construction. -more-
Westmoreland State Park Trail Construction Location:  Montross, Virginia Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation April 2018 Project Description:
This project is for the construction of about 2600 lf of new trail to relocate the existing trail from a badly eroded area. -more-
Burke County Hiking Trails Location: Lake James, Burke County North Carolina April 2018 - October 2018 Project Description:
This project is the construction of about 7 miles of new construction. This project will be a continuation of a project we started in 2016. The trail will be called the Fonta Flora Trail and this section will go through Lake James State Park.   -more-
Rockingham County Community College Mechanized Trail Building Location: Rockingham County, North Carolina July 2018 Project Description:
This was an introduction to Mechanized Trail Building class sponsored by Rockingham County Community College. -more-
Allegheny Trail Relocation Location:  Pocahontas County, West Virginia Seneca State Forest October 2018 - January 2019 Project Description:
This project is the construction of about 2 miles of new construction. This project was for the relocation of the Allegheny Scenic Trail.  This project included the construction of the trail, a trail head parking lot, a kiosk, and the construction of a new Bridge. -more-
